Hello Donato how are you and what have you been up to recently?
Hi there brothers, all super here. Summer is goin to end so it’s STUDIO TIME AGAIN!
You live in Bari. How would you describe the city and what do you think about the music scene there right now?
Ye in Bari, South of Italy. I think it’s a very nice city, a typical sea town with the typical warmer and happy mood by most of the population. The city is growin faster in terms of tourism and all about that, but maybe some who live here can’t imagine it as a big touristic city.
The music scene is evolving and growin too, there are a lot of good producers and djs here and around this area. Also it is easy to find clubs that can offer the music that you like, so i think it’s a really good time here and i’m totally happy about that.
You recently opened a record shop. Can you tell us a bit more about the idea and concept?
I’ll open the shop in November („EXP Record Store – BARI“ if you want to find the page on Facebook).
I thought to open a record shop for a very long time, mostly because i had to change something in my life and i needed to work with something i really love. As i told before there’s a lot of people that love and buy underground music on vinyl but maybe no one wants to take the risk to open a record store focused only on underground music.
The idea is to have a local retailer with the most fresh music of the moment and only super selected used records, it’s also a place where you can stay and relax and listen to music, i’ll go also with a discogs shop and a youtube live channel for all the instore events.
I guess it will be nice, my town does not have anything like that atm.
What annoys you or has pissed you off lately?
I always try to smile on every weird and fake thing i see around, i prefer to make jokes of what i don’t like (Italian style loool)
What excites you besides music?
Story of music and the cultural evolution through music.
Anything coming up you want to share with us? Any shout-outs or final statements?
The past months have been super inspiring and productive for me so i’ll have some records out in the next months and i started a collaboration with a brother of mine and my musical menthor that is Mike Tansella Jr, project name: EXPERIMENT ZERO.
